At an insightful fireside chat co-organized by the School and Columbia Alumni Association Hong Kong, Managing Partner of Qiming Venture Partners Nisa LEUNG shared valuable insights from her successful career as a venture capitalist focusing on the Chinese healthcare market. The event was moderated by the School’s Head of External & Alumni Relations Helen CHEN.
Nisa shared that many entrepreneurs in the healthcare sector stepped up to help out the community during the pandemic by offering vaccines, diagnostic devices, healthcare services and technology. To tap opportunities in an increasingly tech-driven world, her team looked into and invested in firms specializing in artificial intelligence, robotics and health technologies. Helping China’s healthcare industry align its practices in drug discovery and development with global standards is also a focus of her team.
While noting that the introduction of Chapter 18A by HKEX has facilitated biotech companies to go public, Nisa encouraged young people to make contributions to humanity by joining the healthcare industry.
