Disruptive Innovation by Alumni Entrepreneurs: "Capturing the Virus, the Technologies, or the Opportunity?"

In business theory, a disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network and eventually disrupts an existing market. How about in reality?
On 21 Oct (Wed), HKUST alumni Hans Paul (SBM) and Mark Mak (SENG) will tell us their startup journey — from interest into entrepreneurship development, from ideas into actions, and from challenges into opportunities.
Hans (MBA) co-found a disruptive restaurant technology solutions company offering mass personalized experiences to diners using Artificial Intelligence, its user-friendly solutions help F&B companies to drive sales with higher efficiency and lower costs.
Mark’s (ECE & ELEC) robotics technology firm has dedicated its resources to fighting COVID-19, developing a body temperature-checking robot and a UV light robot which offers a safer and more thorough alternative to manual disinfection at a low cost.
The event will be moderated by our SENG Faculty alumnus Prof Yeung Sai-Kit (CPEG, BIEN, ELEC). Sai-Kit previously founded a startup that offers an innovative interior design software to help people come up with ideas on how to best arrange their furniture.
