Mr. Adriel CHAN (2014 Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumnus)
Chair, Hang Lung Properties

Mr. Chan is the Chair of Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties. He joined in 2010 and worked in leasing, finance, and project development roles before being appointed to the Chair in 2024. He continues to chair the sustainability committee. Mr. Chan is a Vice President and Executive Committee member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong, a member of the Asia Business Council, a trustee of The Better Hong Kong Foundation, and Chairman of the Committee of Overseers of Morningside College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds various advisory roles at the University of Southern California (USC), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and the University of Hong Kong. He is also a Council Member of the Academy of Chinese Studies.

Mr. Chan holds an EMBA degree jointly awarded by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and HKUST, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from USC.

Professor KC CHAN
Senior Advisor to the Dean and Adjunct Professor of Finance, HKUST Business School

Prof. Chan re-joined HKUST in 2017, after serving as Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the HKSAR Government from 2007 to 2017, during which he played a leading role in developing and executing policy on financial market development and public finance. Prior to that, he was Dean of Business and Management at HKUST between 2002 and 2007. Now as a key member of the HKUST Business School, Prof. Chan has been actively promoting business education and Hong Kong as an international FinTech hub. He is a key speaker and moderator for a number of public seminars as well as regional and international forums, where his opinions on different topical issues are shared to facilitate an informed discussion. Prof. Chan has served as a consultant to a number of corporations, including as Senior Advisor to WeLab, a leading FinTech company in Asia, and an Independent Non-executive Director for Langham Hospitality Investments Limited and Guotai Junan International. He is also dedicated to public service, including as current Member of the Competition Commission and Non-executive Director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited.

Prof. Chan received his bachelor's degree in economics from Wesleyan University and both his MBA and PhD in finance from the University of Chicago. He is best known for his research on the pricing of risky assets and the performance of equity trading strategies.

Dr. William FUNG (Honorary Doctor of Business Administration, HKUST)
Group Deputy Chairman, Fung Group

Dr. Fung, SBS, OBE, JP, is the Group Deputy Chairman of the Fung Group of companies, a Hong Kong-based multinational engaged in trading, logistics, distribution and retailing. He serves as Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Convenience Retail Asia Limited, a publicly listed company within the Fung Group. He was the Group Chairman of Li & Fung Limited (privatized in May 2020) until October 2020. Together with his brother, Victor Fung, Dr. Fung played a leading role in driving the development of the supply chain infrastructure at Li & Fung Limited. He has previously held key positions in major trade and business associations, including serving as Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, and the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation Council. He was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2008. He is currently an independent non-executive director of VTech Holdings Limited, Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, and The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited.

Dr. Fung graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He holds an MBA degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, degrees of Doctor of Business Administration (honoris causa) from HKUST, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Baptist University, and a degree of Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) from Wawasan Open University of Malaysia.

Professor KOH Tat Koon

Associate Professor and Lee Heng Fellow, Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management, HKUST Business School

Prof. Koh is currently serving as Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) and Program Director of Global Business Program at HKUST Business School. With research and teaching interests in digital economy, marketing, and transformation, as well as digital platform design and strategy, he has received HK$2.3M+ in competitive research grants and published in information systems and management journals. As an award-winning faculty member, Prof. Koh teaches in undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, and DBA programs and conducts executive workshops for executives from a wide range of global industries including finance, technology, telecom, healthcare, tourism and insurance—alongside government institutions, professional bodies, and major organizations. He also advises organizations on their business strategies and serves as a mentor at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Corporation, where he has supervised corporate projects for organizations such as GSK, Klook, Lego, Nike, Oliver Wyman, SmarTone, Sony, Starbucks, Tencent, TVB, WeLab Bank, etc.

Prof. Koh received his PhD and MSc from Carnegie Mellon University and B.Bus. from Nanyang Technological University. Prior to pursuing post-graduate studies, he co-founded a startup and worked in a government agency.

Ms. Nisa LEUNG
Managing Partner, Aulis Capital

Ms. Leung served as a Managing Partner at Qiming Venture Partners, where she founded and led the firm’s healthcare practice since 2006. Under her leadership, Qiming became a pioneering investor in healthcare and biotech sectors, backing some of the most innovative companies in the industry. Ms. Leung has been consistently recognized as one of the most influential investors in the industry. She has been featured on the Forbes Midas List for seven consecutive years (2019–2025). In 2024, she was honored as one of Fortune Asia’s Most Powerful Women. She has invested in and served as a board director for numerous leading healthcare and life sciences companies, including many groundbreaking companies in the life sciences and healthcare sectors globally. Prior to joining Qiming, she was co-founder of Biomedic Holdings with operations and investments in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and health care services. Ms. Leung was Venture Partner of PacRim Ventures in Menlo Park and was previously with Softbank/Mobius Venture Capital.

Ms. Leung earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS from Cornell University. She is visiting lecturer at Harvard Law School, a trustee of the Hotchkiss School, serves as a member of the Hong Kong University Court, Cornell University International Advisory Council and Stanford University International Advisory Council.

Mr. Charles LI
Founder and Chairman, Micro Connect

Mr. Li is Founder and Chairman of Micro Connect and Chairman of Micro Connect Macao Financial Assets Exchange (MCEX). He was most recently Chief Executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) from January 2010 to December 2020. During this time, he orchestrated some of the most significant strategic initiatives in HKEX’s history, including the acquisition of the London Metal Exchange, the launch of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect cross-border trading scheme, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, Bond Connect, and the Listing Reforms. Prior to joining HKEX, Mr. Li served as Chairman of JP Morgan China from 2003 to 2009 and worked at Merrill Lynch from 1994 to 2003, where he served as President of Merrill Lynch China from 1999 to 2003. Earlier in his career, Mr. Li practiced law at Brown & Wood and Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.

Mr. Li currently also serves on the Board of Trustees of Asia Business Council. He received a BA in English Literature from Xiamen University, an MA in Journalism from the University of Alabama and a JD from Columbia Law School.

Ms. Jeanette MAO (2006 MSc alumna)
Chief Executive Officer, HK Express Airways

Ms. Mao has been HK Express CEO, Hong Kong’s low-cost carrier, since April 2023. An effective leader with extensive experience, she oversees the airline’s operational decisions and strategic direction, responsible for the overall direction of the carrier’s operations, and enhancing the quality of customer service. Having worked with the Cathay Pacific Group for over 20 years, Ms. Mao holds valuable insights across different aspects of the aviation business, ranging from passenger travel to cargo business, and from inflight products to service delivery. Prior to joining HK Express, Ms. Mao was the General Manager Inflight Service Delivery of Cathay Pacific from 2019 to 2023, responsible for leading the inflight service team to deliver excellent services on board. Ms. Mao has led various transformational initiatives with strong operational expertise in upholding the highest safety standards and providing exceptional customer service experience.

Ms. Mao holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Finance from HKUST. She is passionate about travel and exploring diverse cultures.

Professor Albert PARK
Chief Economist and Director General, Economic Research and Development Impact Department, Asian Development Bank
Chair Professor of Economics, HKUST Business School

Prof. Park is Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Director General of its Economic Research and Development Impact Department. He is chief spokesperson on economic and development trends and leads the production of ADB’s flagship knowledge products and support for regional cooperation fora. Prof. Park has more than two decades of experience as a development economist and is a well-known expert on the economy of the People’s Republic of China. He has worked on a broad range of development issues including poverty and inequality, intergenerational mobility, microfinance, migration and labor markets, the future of work, and foreign investment. He is also Chair Professor of Economics, Social Science, and Public Policy at HKUST (on leave). He served as a founding director of HKUST’s Institute for Emerging Market Studies and Center for Economic Policy, and previously held faculty positions at the University of Oxford and University of Michigan.

A national of the US, Prof. Park received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University and his doctorate in applied economics from Stanford University.

Professor Stephen SHIH
Associate Dean (MBA Programs), HKUST Business School

Prof. Shih is the Associate Dean (MBA Programs) and Adjunct Professor (Department of Management) at HKUST Business School. Prior to joining HKUST, Stephen was a Partner at Bain & Company. In addition to serving clients, he led the Asia-Pacific Organization Practice and was EVP of Learning and Development.

Prof. Shih has been interviewed by The Economist, CNBC, The New York Times, SCMP and The Wall Street Journal, and has written for the Harvard Business Review China. He holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University.

Mr. Oscar TAO (2021 BBA alumnus)
Co-founder & Chief Marketing Officer, Lulusmiles Medical Technology Limited and DBT Technology Limited

Mr. Tao is a multifaceted Hong Kong singer, actor and entrepreneur, recognized for his dynamic career across business and creative industries. He co-founded DBT Technology Limited and Lulusmiles, where he serves as Chief Marketing Officer. The company focuses on revolutionizing dental care through AI-driven solutions, aiming to enhance patient comfort and reduce costs. Beyond entrepreneurship, Mr. Tao is an accomplished artist under the management of Universal Music. His musical journey began at the age of five, when his playful explorations on the piano caught the attention of his parents, prompting them to enrol him in formal classical piano training. He went on to pursue his studies at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Eva LUE and Eleanor WONG. He was awarded a scholarship to study at Harrow School in the UK, where he simultaneously continued his piano training under Professor Colin STONE at the Royal Academy of Music.

A graduate of HKUST, Mr. Tao earned his first-class degree in Global Business (GBUS) in 2021. Unconfined by genre, he delves into a variety of styles, aiming to become a versatile singer who can connect with a wide audience through his singing.

Mr. Arthur YUEN (1998 MBA alumnus)
Deputy Chief Executive, Hong Kong Monetary Authority

Mr. Yuen is in charge of the full range of banking policy, supervision, conduct, and enforcement issues at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). He joined the HKMA in 1996 as Head of Administration and has since taken up different responsibilities including research and liaison on China economic and market development issues before being appointed Head of Banking Supervision in 2000. He took up the position as Executive Director (Banking Development) in July 2004, Executive Director (Banking Supervision) in June 2005 and Executive Director (External) in July 2008. He was appointed to his present position on January 1, 2010.

He has been playing an active role and serving as member of the FSB Standing Committee on Supervisory and Regulatory Cooperation. He is also a long-serving member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Appointed as Co-Chair of the Committee’s Policy and Standard Group (“PSG”) since January 2021. Chaired the Committee’s Supervision and Implementation Group (“SIG”) from September 2018 to Dec 2020.
