AmCham HK: Bridging the Gender Gap in Tech
For International Women's Day 2022, our School is pleased to be the Academic Partner of this event by AmCham HK featuring Telstra, Transunion, and Visa for an interactive session on how these three pillars of technology are bridging the talent gap in tech and making a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
Objectives
• Raise awareness of corporate efforts in leading gender equality and accelerating gender parity in Hong Kong
• Celebrate and recognize women's achievements in FinTech, finance and telecommunications
• Share experience and learnings from women leaders and allies across Hong Kong
During the event, panelists will discuss their journey to success and the challenges they may have faced due to their gender. They will also talk about their plans to empower the women around them and emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
The event will also include an interactive breakout session where participants are able to engage with the panelists directly and exchange lived experiences.

Marie Claire Lim Moore Marie Claire Lim Moore is CEO of TransUnion Hong Kong. She has a long, distinguished career bridging the financial world with emerging innovations in data science and technology. With roles spanning geographies, including New York, Singapore and Greater China, she joined TransUnion from Visa where she was Head of Consulting and Analytics for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Prior to this she spent 15 years with Citi in various senior level positions throughout the consumer bank. Wei Lin Wei Lin joined TransUnion in 2016 and currently leads Data Science & Analytics APAC. Her team provides analytic solutions and supports TransUnion products leveraging the latest data science and machine learning technologies. She’s responsible for architecting core analytics capabilities and solution sets for the region, and has managed the development of many solutions deployed in Hong Kong, Philippines and ASEAN. Previously, Lin accrued over 10 years of experience in the application of advanced statistical techniques within the financial services industry. She was employed by major credit card issuers where she led a team of analysts in managing diverse modeling projects and data solutions — from originations to portfolio management — for consumer and small business lending. |

Maaike Steinebach Maaike Steinebach is Visa's General Manager for Hong Kong and Macau. She is responsible for the full business operations, strategy development and management of Visa’s businesses in the two territories. She is also the founding member of the FinTech Association of Hong Kong. Maaike brings more than 20 years of experience working in institutional, commercial and private banking in Europe, Asia, and Greater China. Before joining Visa, Maaike served for five years as Country Executive of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and before that as Country Executive for ABN AMRO and Regional Head Asia for the corporate bank. Prior to Hong Kong, Maaike spent five years based in Shanghai as Country Manager for Fortis Bank Greater China. Maaike has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. |

Alice Ting Alice is a seasoned international executive with over three decades of experience in driving customer satisfaction, sales and revenue growth for technology firms in Hong Kong and USA. As Country Managing Director for Hong Kong, the international headquarters for Telstra, Alice leads a team of several hundred to deliver against Telstra’s corporate strategy. This includes engagement with industry associations, government stakeholders, and non-profit organisations to promote Telstra’s corporate values. She is also committed to creating a strong and vibrant workplace culture for women in technology to thrive. In her concurrent role as Head of Key Accounts, Alice leads a sales team in driving customer satisfaction and growth across Telstra’s largest enterprise customers in Hong Kong, spanning sectors including finance, logistics, retail, manufacturing and professional services. Prior to joining Telstra, Alice was the Country Manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan at Akamai, a leading content delivery network service provider from the United States. She planned and executed a new channel strategy to drive growth in these markets. Alice started her telecommunications career with BT Hong Kong in 1992, when the company was starting to roll out its global network for the enterprise market. She then moved to New York to be the Global Account Director for one of BT’s three global accounts in the United States, where she managed a virtual team across the globe. She subsequently moved back to Hong Kong to manage the Greater China region for BT, taking on a similar role after joining Pacnet Hong Kong which Telstra acquired in 2015. Alice is an advocate in encouraging woman to join technology sector. She is a committee member of Woman In Business under Australia Chamber of Commerce. Alice holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Married with a grown-up son, she enjoys reading mystery novels and photography with her Sony alpha camera in her free time, as well as kick-starting the day with morning exercise. |

Ricky Kapur Ricky Kapur is Head of APAC for Zoom, bringing over 25 years of experience to his role. Prior to joining Zoom, Kapur was Vice President of Sales and Marketing Operations at Microsoft APAC. In his role, he managed all segments, from SMB and Majors up to Enterprise and led a cross-functional team of Sales, Marketing, Partner and Customer Success and Operations professionals. Before joining Microsoft, Kapur served as Managing Director at Google where he was responsible for overseeing growth of Google Cloud Platform across APJ. Prior to that, Kapur held the position of Vice President, ASEAN Technology Sales at Oracle. He also worked at Siebel Systems, Unica Corporation, and Chordiant Software. Kapur is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India and holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne. |
